MIST ePortfolio

Michele Alaniz

I am a community college librarian and a student in the MIST program at CSU Monterey Bay. I started the MIST program in Fall 2014 and expect to graduate with an MS in Instructional Science and Technology in Fall 2015.

As a librarian, I have many tasks including and related to reference, instruction, distance education, collection development and outreach. I teach a one-credit library research skills course, and I also teach subject specific workshops for the Psychology, Sociology and Child Development departments at City College of San Francisco. My goals are to improve my instruction and instructional materials that I use in the classroom (online and face to face), at the reference desk, and in training sessions for colleagues.
